The New York Yankees secured a 9-8 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, thanks to two-run homers by Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo, and a solo homer by Giancarlo Stanton, as they chased Kevin Gausman early in the game.

Judge and Stanton homered in the same game for the 36th time, with the Yankees currently 32-4 in those games.

Rizzo homered off Mitch White in the fifth to give New York an 8-2 lead. The Yankees bounced back from a 3-0 loss, with Judge and Stanton reaching base seven times, Judge having 500 hits, and Juan Soto hitting two RBI singles.

New York’s Clarke Schmidt allowed two runs in 4 1/3 innings, striking out four and walking three. Luke Weaver allowed three runs in two innings, but was awarded the win.

Gausman’s fastball velocity dropped from 94.5 mph in his season debut to 91.5 in 50-degree weather, allowing six runs on four hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Toronto scored three runs in a game against the Blue Jays, thanks to a combination of RBI doubles, homers, and runs, with Justin Turner and Kevin Kiermaier contributing.
