Legendary Gogglebox star left heartbroken following devastating death of their beloved sister

Former Gogglebox star Sandra Martin has been left devastated following the death of her sister Jennifer Richards.

Television personality Sandra, 61 – who appeared on series one to nine of Channel 4 show Gogglebox between 2013 and 2017 – announced the sad news on Twitter this week.

Sharing some pictures of herself with Jennifer, she wrote: ‘My sister Jennifer Richards has passed away… I LOVE YOU JEN.’

Posting another photo of the pair together, Sandra added: ‘R.I.P JENNIFER RICHARDS.’

Sandra was inundated with messages from her followers who were quick to send some heartfelt words to the star.

One person wrote: ‘So sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers with you all.’

Someone else wrote: ‘So sorry to hear this Sandra, hope it was peaceful. God Bless you and your family.’

Another fan of Sandra posted: ‘So sorry for your loss what a beautiful soul rest in paradise beautiful.’

Someone else shared: ‘May your sister now rest in eternal peace.’

While another follower simply wrote: ‘Condolences Sandra.’

Sandra suffered heartache during the coronavirus pandemic when five people close to her died.

In April 2020 Sandra broke down in tears in an emotional Twitter post as she revealed her sister-in-law’s daughter had passed away.

She also lost her sister-in-law, uncle, friend’s dad along with another friend in Brixton, during the coronavirus outbreak.

The heartbroken star told Metro.co.uk of her sister-in-law: ‘She did have underlying health issues before she passed away and my brother, who is now in self-isolation is absolutely devastated by it.

‘When I found out I started to cry and my daughter told me to pack my bags so I am staying with her in Brixton at the moment.

‘My friend’s dad died first, then my brother’s wife died, my uncle died and my good friend from Brixton died, it is all so tragic. What is going on?’

Sandra’s interview came days after she revealed her devastation after her brother’s wife tragically lost her life to the respiratory disease, just days after being admitted to hospital for treatment.

Taking to Twitter to share the devastating news, Sandra wrote: ‘AM CRYING. MY BROTHER WIFE JUST DIED OF CORONAVIRUS R.I.P MY SISTER IN LAW.’ [sic]

Sandra revealed her brother’s wife and their daughter had been rushed to hospital several days ago after suffering from coronavirus symptoms – a high fever and a dry persistent cough.

She wrote: ‘AM NOT HAPPY EVERYONE. ..MY BROTHER WIFE AND SISTER IS IN HOSPITAL WITH DAT BLOODY CORONVIRUS…
