The Buffalo Bills surprised the world by trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, a move they had been working on for weeks.

The Bills traded Diggs to the Texans for a 2025 second-round pick, revealing he was a better destination for the team than another rival. The Bills allowed Diggs to seek a trade, except for the Chiefs.

Multiple sources have confirmed that he was permitted to negotiate with any team in the league, except the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills were concerned about Diggs leaving Buffalo and moving to Kansas City, where he would have won his first Super Bowl. The Bills were willing to send him to Houston, who had a strong playoff record last season. It’s possible the Bills were simply excited to remove Diggs from their roster.

Diggs, currently under contract in Houston, may team with Patrick Mahomes in 2025 after reaching free agency, potentially securing a long-awaited opportunity in Buffalo.
