Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats suggests the team could find wide receiver depth with JuJu Smith-Schuster’s return this offseason, although he’s still under contract in New England.
Smith-Schuster signed a $25.5 million contract with the Patriots, with the team absorbing a larger dead cap hit than releasing him.
Smith-Schuster, a Pittsburgh native, played seven NFL seasons, earning the 2018 Pro Bowl with the Steelers, averaging 111 receptions, 1,426 yards, and seven touchdowns.
The Steelers may acquire Smith-Schuster for a 2024 sixth-rounder, considering the team’s desperate need for receiving depth and the low cost of the 27-year-old receiver.
