David Moyes’ tactical approach against Leverkusen is not entirely blamed, as his defensive system remains unchanged and has proven successful against teams like Arsenal.

The manager, Moyes, praised Xabi Alonso for using and rotating his squad in a European and domestic run-in, despite understanding the value of substitutions and resting players.

In the Premier League game against Fulham, Moyes praised Leverkusen’s strong squad, including Xabi Alonso, who came on late and made a difference. He emphasized the importance of regaining momentum after a difficult start, stating that a four-year run would be fantastic.

Manager Moyes admits that two games a week is difficult and that using the substitutes’ bench is advantageous. He acknowledges the quality of Leverkusen’s squad depth but believes Leverkusen spent less than West Ham and should have built a full squad instead of a threadbare one.
