Keider Montero faced Paul Skenes, a formidable pitching prospect, in a strong pitching matchup. Montero dominated, allowing no runs and striking out eight. Skenes, on the other hand, struggled, scattering three hits and striking out one. Justyn-Henry Malloy’s heroics helped the Hens walk the game off in the 11th inning.

Indy broke the 0-0 deadlock in the fifth, scoring two runs against lefty Sean Guenther. Bligh Madris hit a solo homer, making it 3-1. Anthony Bemboom doubled, but Andrew Navigato and Akil Baddoo struck out.

Wilmer Flores and Brenan Hanifee kept Indy off the board in the tie game. Andrew Vasquez held the runner at second in the 11th inning. Ryan Vilade, with former top pitching prospect Brent Honeywell, scored the game winner.

Rain washed out the Erie SeaWolves vs. Binghamton Rumble Ponies game, and they will play two games on Saturday and Sunday to finish the series. The Quad Cities River Bandits defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps 1-0, with Garrett Burhenn spinning four innings of one-run ball with five strikeouts. The River Bandits’ right-hander Ben Kudrna had a great outing, but the bullpen blew up in the eighth and ninth innings, spoiling hopes of a comeback. The Whitecaps lead the series 2-1. The Lakeland Flying Tigers defeated the Bradenton Marauders 6-4, with Dom Johnson leading off with a walk and Samuel Gil scoring.
