Former NBA Player Reveals Bold Prediction For Suns’ Kevin Durant
The Phoenix Suns avoided the NBA Play-In Tournament by the skin of their teeth. It took until the final day of the 2023-24 regular season for the seeding to be finalized in the Western Conference, where there was a logjam in the middle.
The Suns are entering the NBA Postseason as the No. 6 seed, set to face off against the No. 3 seed Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite where they finished in the regular season standings, no one is taking the Suns lightly entering the postseason.
This is a team capable of defeating any opponent on any given night. With three bonafide stars in Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, Phoenix has the firepower to hang with and beat anyone.
The disappointments of the regular season can be wiped away with a deep run in the postseason. Are the Suns capable of putting together such a stretch? One former NBA player wouldn’t count them out because of the presence of Durant.
During an appearance on The Carton Show on FS1, former NBA point guard Eddie House pointed to Durant being one of the best players to ever step on the court as a reason to believe in them. Durant’s championship experience is what House believes will set Phoenix apart.
“There’s no question. I know he can do it,” House said when asked whether Durant can carry the Suns past the Timberwolves in the first round.
House using comparisons of what Durant accomplished with the Golden State Warriors as the reasoning for why the Suns can succeed feels like a stretch. It has been seven years since Durant helped the Warriors win the NBA Championship and took home the Finals MVP award.
While still a great player, expecting that kind of performance from a 35-year-old Durant is asking for a lot. If the Suns are going to make a run, they are going to need Booker and Beal playing up to their potential as well.
