Georgia tight end Brock Bowers must overcome a challenge to make a significant impact similar to Travis Kelce in the NFL.

Former Georgia Bulldogs pass catcher, two-time national champion and three-time All American, is expected to be a top 10 overall pick in the upcoming draft.

ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller suggests that 21-year-old Georgia quarterback Bowers needs to overcome size as a major hurdle to make a significant impact in the NFL.

Miller noted that Brock Bowers, despite being 6ft 5in and 240 pounds, is undersized for his position. He’s a 4.6 to 4.7 in the 40-yard dash, but not a transcendent athlete.

Bowers, a top tight end in college football history, has won the John Mackey Award twice and holds the UGA school record for single-season receiving touchdowns with 13. Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken praised Bowers’ ability to work at his own speed, highlighting his unique qualities and ability to be 10 yards ahead of others.

A PFF’s scouting report highlights Bowers as a well-rounded tight end prospect with elite after-the-catch ability, strong hands, and pound-for-pound blocking ability. Bowers’ smaller size and reliable blocking make him an ideal offensive weapon with All-Pro potential.

New York Jets may consider taking pass catcher Bowers at No. 10 in the upcoming mock draft, as Aaron Rodgers nears the end of his career. Bowers could be an excellent target for Rodgers and a strong blocker for Breece Hall, as the Jets have landed veteran receiver Mike Williams.

CBS Sports’ latest mock draft suggests Brock Bowers will be drafted by the Chiefs with the No. 32 pick, teaming with Travis Kelce. Bowers has the potential to emulate Kelce’s Hall of Fame-worthy career, having established UGA tight end records in 2021, 2022, and 2023. With 56 receptions, 714 yards, and seven touchdowns, Bowers is projected to be ahead of Kelce’s college career.
