Jack Leiter made his MLB debut against the Tigers, facing struggling Kenta Maeda. The Rangers scored a leadoff home run, but a double play by Evan Carter eliminated the baserunner. Mark Canha and Spencer Torkelson scored one-out singles and two-out walks, respectively.

Josh Smith scored a walk in the second inning, followed by a Wyatt Langford double. A Jonah Heim home run brought two runs in, giving the Rangers a 4-0 lead. Colt Keith scored a leadoff walk, Gio Urshela singled, and Javier Baez doubled home. The Tigers tied the game in the third inning with a one-out home run by Adolis Garcia. However, Texas challenged the play, allowing Langford to score due to an error on Keith. Alex Faedo ended the inning with no runs scored.

Marcus Semien hit a leadoff double in the fourth inning, and Evan Carter sac fly brought him home. The score was 7-4 Rangers. In the bottom half, Riley Greene hit a double, and Kerry Carpenter scored a triple. Jose Urena finished the game.

The Rangers faced Faedo in the top of the fifth, but couldn’t convert a runner to a run. Tyler Holton led the Rangers 1-2-3 in the sixth, and the Tigers went three-up three-down in the bottom half. Alex Lange got the Tigers out of the inning, but they were tied in the bottom half. Jose Leclerc finished off Baez to end the inning.

In a game between the Tigers and Rangers, Shelby Miller scored a run, while Leody Taveras scored a one-out double. The Rangers managed to score two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but the Tigers were down 9-7. Gio Urshela hit a two-out single, but Baez flied out to end the game. The Rangers managed to bring in Kirby Yates, but the Tigers failed to bring in any runners.
