Inter Miami secured a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City, thanks to Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi’s goals, following a strong performance against Nashville SC.

Inter Miami’s win over Monterrey in the CONCACAF Champions Cup has pushed them back into first place in the Eastern Conference, easing the impact of their loss in Mexico. Despite a dip in form, they remain tied with the New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew.

Miami’s top spot is uncertain, and they need a win over Nashville to keep the chasing pack at bay. Nashville has failed to win their last three league outings, dropping to 14th in the Eastern Conference table. This will be their first meeting in MLS this season, having faced off in the CONCACAF Champions Cup Round of 16.

Inter Miami will be without several first-team stars due to injuries, including Leonardo Campana, Ian Fray, Robert Taylor, and Robbie Robinson. Argentine midfielder Facundo Farias, Sehiy Kryvtsov, and Federico Redondo are also out. Lionel Messi is back to full fitness after a month with a hamstring injury. Left-back Jordi Alba is the most notable absentee with an apparent right hamstring issue.

Key Biscayne teenager Benjamin Cremaschi made his season debut against Sporting Kansas City after sports hernia surgery. Cremaschi’s box-to-box attributes will complement Sergio Busquets’ midfield, which relies on him for energy conservation. David Ruiz, a homegrown Miami player, will play a key midfield role, providing support from the flanks and Luis Suarez leading the line.
