Everyone is asking, who will be the Buffalo Bills number one receiver?

A question that’s been asked all offseason, since the Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs is, who will be the number one receiver? Bleacher Report recently asked this question as well, and the answer is something all fans want to know. The reality is, clarity will only come once the season begins, and even then, a definitive answer may remain elusive. Here is a snippet of what Bleacher Report said.

“After trading Stefon Diggs, the Bills and Josh Allen need a go-to target out wide. The hope is that Keon Coleman fills that role, but counting on a second-round rookie leads to plenty of questions about how that will play out.”

So far, reports on Coleman from OTAs were positive, but the receiver group struggled on the first day of mandatory minicamp. I wouldn’t read too much into that, but can the Bills rely on Coleman to be the team’s number one? The beautiful part is, they won’t have to. Buffalo’s receiver corps is better top to bottom than last season or even the year before. Yes, if you don’t think Diggs has lost a step, you can say there is no one on the Bills at Diggs’s level. However, the receiver room was top-heavy the last couple of years, with Diggs at the top, and then several hopefuls or inconsistent receivers after him.

The Buffalo Bills offense will still be one of the best

Khalil Shakir stepped up last season during the second half and the playoffs, and he is expected to carry a much larger role in 2024. You can say the same about Dalton Kincaid too, and Curtis Samuel has been a solid receiver in the NFL, with production. Chase Claypool is talented and MVS can stretch the field. This is a group of receivers with a lot of potential and on top of that, this offense won’t feature one singular receiver, it’ll be game plan and matchup-specific. If they can build the chemistry and timing with Josh Allen, the Bills will be just fine on offense.
