I’m not sure if the term “Dutch Gretzky” caught on, but it should have, as he’s in the headlines today. Daniel Sprong had been an unrestricted free agent and has recently signed a new contract. The Vancouver Canucks sign Sprong to a one-year contract worth $975K. Sprong was born in the Netherlands but spent his junior hockey career with the Charlottetown Islanders of the QMJHL.
