Did Eagles Give Up Too Much for Jahan Dotson?

The Philadelphia Eagles were desperate to solve their third wide receiver role for the last few years. It doesn’t help that many key moments during that time were squandered due to the lack of answers at the position. Those problems are expected to be solved with the acquisition of former first-round wideout Jahan Dotson formerly of the Washington Commanders.

Philadelphia’s trade with their NFC East rival came as a surprise to some, but not to those who follow the Eagles consistently. For starters, general manager Howie Roseman has never been afraid to give up premium assets to trade with division foes. Was a 2025 third-round pick too much for a player like Dotson? The fact they were able to get a third-round pick was good news for the rebuilding team.

Dotson has recorded over 500 yards in each of his first two seasons but will expect to be getting fewer targets overall.
