“I didn’t take the reservation but I was shocked to see him when he came in. Everyone was asking for pictures and he and Ricardo were lovely, there was a family of Bolton fans who were dining there too and Ricardo took a picture and spoke to them.”
Garrafa expressed Bolt’s down-to-earth demeanour and how they gladly kept the restaurant open past usual hours for the special guests, saying: “Bolt was very kind and we kept the restaurant open until midnight for them, we loved it,” reports Wales Online
Gardner enjoyed an impressive career with the left-back racking up 397 games, 21 goals, and 12 assists over 14 years with Bolton Wanderers before hanging his boots up in 2012. Bolt, now retired, is renowned for his 13-year sprinting career during which he clinched an impressive eight Olympic gold medals and repeatedly shattered the world record for the 100m and 200m sprints.
He set the 100m record of 9.58 seconds at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics in Berlin. He also boasts the second and third fastest times of 9.63 and 9.69 from London 2012 and Beijing 2008 respectively.
His 200m record of 19.19 seconds was also established in Berlin in 2009. La Casa, no stranger to hosting celebrities, has welcomed a plethora of famous faces since its inception.
Manchester United legend, Sir Alex Ferguson has been spotted dining at the eatery, as have female footballers Ella Toone, Steph Houghton and Ellen White. Reality TV stars Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury have also enjoyed a meal at the restaurant in the past.
