Newcastle United could be set to benefit financially if Manchester City’s legal challenge regarding Associated Party Transactions (APT) is successful.

The dispute centers around the Premier League’s rules requiring commercial deals involving clubs and companies linked to their owners to be independently assessed for fair market value.

Manchester City has contested these regulations, and if they win, it could allow clubs like Newcastle, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), to secure larger commercial deals without such restrictions.

This potential shift could enable Newcastle to leverage significant sponsorships linked to PIF, increasing their financial capacity for transfers and wages under financial sustainability rules.

It would provide the Magpies with more room to spend, despite current financial constraints, as they have faced challenges in boosting revenue after missing out on European football this season.

The ruling, expected soon, could transform the financial landscape for Newcastle, opening the door to more lucrative partnerships and helping them compete at a higher level in the Premier League.
