Blues midfielder Elkan Baggott scored twice as Indonesia’s U23s defeated Chinese Taipei 9-0 Thursday afternoon at the Manahan Stadium in Surakarta in their first 2024 Asian Cup finals qualifying group game.

The 20-year-old was receiving his first U23 cap after being demoted from the full squad, with Indonesia trying to qualify for the Asian U23 Cup finals in Qatar and then maybe the Olympics in Paris, with the top three teams earning a ticket to France.

Baggott scored the sixth goal in the 56th minute, and his team added three more before the end.
