In a groundbreaking move that has garneredports community, the (NHRA announced a new pregnancy policy aimed at supporting female drivers in their careers. This progressive initiative comes as part of the NHRA ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and diversity within the sport.

The policy allows female drivers who become pregnant to take maternity leave without penalty, ensuring they can return to competition after childbirth. Over the past few years, there has been a growing call within the motorsports industry to address the unique challenges faced by female athletes, and the NHRA’s new policy is a significant step forward.

“We recognize careers and starting a family,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “This policy reflects our commitment to supporting our female drivers both on and off the track been met with enthusiasm from current NHRA competitors, including notable female drivers who have long advocated for such measures. Alexis DeJoria, a prominent figure in Top Fuel drag racing, expressed her support: “This changer for women in our sport. It sends a message that motherhood is not just acceptable but valued in drag racing.”
