“A big blow” | Report | Hammers midfielder talks injury

Tomas Soucek, a West Ham midfielder, has described his most recent injury as one of the worst he has ever suffered.

The Czech international took a heavy knock to the head in our 3-1 victory against Brighton on August 26th, and our Hammers midfielder was hauled out with concussion.

Soucek, who is no new to getting battered and bruised for the cause, described the incident as one that truly hurt him hard – despite the fact that he is again back in contention to play against Manchester City next weekend after missing our last encounter against Luton Town.

“I have to say that the injury was unpleasant, a big blow,” Soucek told the Czech Republic’s Official Website.

“I’ve had quite a few injuries, but this was one of the most vexing.” But my rehabilitation went well, I’m in good shape, and I’m looking forward to the match.

“The English FA has rules on how many days you can do what. I had a few days off. I then first prepared contactless.

“I was with my family for two days, on the third and fourth day I was able to go for a bike ride, exercise a little, but without tremors, maintain myself.

“On the fifth, sixth and seventh day, I already went for a run. But once I got to the meeting, I could do anything. It went well before the game.”
