Yaroslava Mahuchikh recognized as best track and field athlete of year in Europe

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh was presented with an award from European Athletics and was recognized as the best athlete in Europe in 2024.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine has reported this.

The award was given to the Ukrainian track and field athlete for this year’s achievements: she became the Olympic and European champion, the vice-champion of the world indoors and won the final of the Diamond League for the third time in a row.

“For me, as well as for every Ukrainian woman or man, every victory is important, because it is an opportunity to show that we are fighting. And we continue to do it on all fields. Finally, I have the award for the best female athlete of the year in Europe. It is for all Ukrainians,” the athlete said during the award ceremony.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the World Athletics officially ratified the world record of Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh in the high jump.

As previously reported, the day before Yaroslava Mahuchikh told journalists about her own political ambitions.
