Ole Miss football running back Rashad Amos plans to enter the transfer portal
Ole Miss looks to have its first roster casualty, running back Rashad Amos, set to enter his name into the transfer portal. On3 reported that Amos’s agent at Peterson Sports had confirmed his decision to them.
Amos had just nine carries for 75 rushing yards, and his last touch came in the home win over Georgia. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
Rashad Amos sees limited touches in his one year with Ole Miss
Rashad Amos transferred to Ole Miss this past off-season, one of the last players in the spring transfer portal. He was one of several new running backs picked up by Lane Kiffin, who was looking to add some competition for carries and potentially find a stand-out player at the position.
Amos chose Ole Miss after decommitting from Colorado after pledging to the Buffaloes earlier in the transfer portal process.
He started his college football career at South Carolina before transferring to Miami (OH), where he had his breakout season. Amos finished the season with 210 carries for 1,075 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, helping the RedHawks to the MAC Championship.
Amos saw some early touches in the first three Ole Miss games during garbage time of blowout wins. His final touch in an Ole Miss jersey came in the win over Georgia, a two-yard carry.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound back should have no problem finding a team for his final year of eligibility, with his 2023 work for Miami (OH) showing what Amos is capable of.
