Contract: Matty Godden signs new deal

The striker extends his stay with the Club…

We are delighted to announce that striker Matty Godden has signed a new contract with Coventry City.

Godden, who joined the Club back in 2019, has agreed a new deal, which will see him extend his stay until the summer of 2025.

The 32-year-old has made 116 appearances for the Club, scoring 41 goals along the way since joining from Peterborough United.

Matty has played an influential role in City’s rise up the EFL, firing the Sky Blues back into the Championship in 2020, as he ended the season as the Club’s top scorer.

Godden then kicked on in England’s second tier, scoring important goals, as City continue to kick on season-by-season.

The striker will now look to add to his tally and continue to play vital role in the City squad, with Mark Robins’ side set to face AFC Wimbeldon tonight and Middlesbrough this weekend.
