Woking Confirm Double Signing

National League side Woking have completed the double capture of forwards Alfie Pavey and Thomas Dickson-Peters in a bid to bolster their attacking options, as confirmed via statements on the club’s website.

Pavey has joined Woking for an undisclosed fee, following his impressive start to life in the National League South, whilst Dickson-Pete arrives on loan from the Championship.

Who are the duo?

Beginning with Pavey, the 27-year-old is currently the top scorer in the National League South for Farnborough after netting eight goals in ten matches. He’s also had spells with Millwall, Aldershot Town and Dartford.

Meanwhile, Dickson-Peters has arrived on a one-month loan from Championship side Norwich City. The 21-year-old has EFL experience with both Gillingham and Grimsby Town as well as featuring for Scotland at youth level.

A solid start

Following on from their fourth-placed finish last season, Woking currently sit ninth in the National League after picking up 16 points from their opening 12 league matches and sit just two points outside of the top seven.

So far, Woking have won four, drew four and lost four including last night’s 1-0 defeat away to Wealdstone with Sam Bowen’s goal proving to be the difference between the two sides.

Both players also made their debuts for the club last night, with Pavey starting before being replaced after 78 minutes by Dickson-Peters.

The deals

Dickson-Peters has joined Woking on a one-month loan deal, which will give him enough time to earn minutes and compete to try and extend that initial spell.

Meanwhile, Pavey has joined Woking for an undisclosed fee, with the contract lasting until June 2025.

Writer’s View

Woking have enjoyed a strong start to the National League season but being more clinical in the final third was definitely something that the club needed to work on.

Dickson-Peters brings more EFL experience into the squad whilst Pavey has enjoyed an excellent start to the season and can be clinical which is something that has been missing from the side’s first quarter of the season.
