A source close to West Ham United has confirmed Jarrod Bowen’s injury, but there is some positive news for David Moyes.
There is no rest for the wicked, as West Ham have another busy week ahead of them as the season heats up.
On Saturday, the Hammers returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United.
The focus now shifts to important Europa League games against Freiburg and at home against in-form Newcastle United in the coming week.
Jarrod Bowen, as always, will be crucial to West Ham’s aspirations. He drives the squad, as he demonstrated with a silky goal and a fantastic all-around performance over the weekend.
So West Ham fans were understandably concerned when he was seen limping and in clear discomfort when substituted late on at the London Stadium against the Blades.
We reported on the knock hoping for positive news from West Ham ahead of the trip to Germany before Newcastle come to town next Sunday.
Now the injury to West Ham star Bowen has been confirmed by source inside club but there’s some good news for David Moyes.
A source inside West Ham has confirmed to Claret and Hugh that Bowen picked up a slight knock in the game.
But in response to our report they claim he will be fit for Newcastle.
That will keep his remarkable record going of having only missed two of the last 132 Premier League matches since signing for West Ham.
The report does, however, suggest Bowen might be rested for the Europa League trip to Germany.
“Bowen was carrying a slight limp as he was subbed in extra time yesterday per Hammers News but our sources claim there in no problem with the player,” Claret and Hugh state.
“He is unlikely to be involved in the Europa League match anyway as David Moyes again rings the changes within the squad.
“We were told earlier that the player had suffered no more than a knock during the game against Sheffield United and that there was very little problem that a couple of days rest wouldn’t put right…
“Thankfully our information is that he will be fine for the Newcastle game.”
