Striker in red-hot form has transfer ‘appeal’ for Nottingham Forest as release clause looms

Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news as Steve Cooper’s Reds linked with Vfb Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy

Stuttgart's Serhou Guirassy

Nottingham Forest are said to be continuing to keep tabs on in-form Vfb Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.

The Reds were linked with the 27-year-old during the summer as they looked to strengthen their attacking resources. Although nothing came of the interest, talk about Guirassy’s future is now beginning to ramp up.

It was recently reported that within the next year a £17 million release clause in his contract will become active. That would mean he could be available for what has been dubbed a “bargain” price at the end of the season.

With that in mind, German newspaper Bild (via Get Football News Germany) report Forest are continuing to watch Guirassy. It is said the forward’s release clause and his current scoring streak make him “appealing” to Steve Cooper ’s side. However, it is “unlikely” anything will happen in January due to Stuttgart’s strong start to the campaign.

Guirassy has began the 2023/24 season on a high note. He has scored 10 goals in six Bundesliga games, boosting his team to second place.

The Guinea international recently addressed the summer speculation, which also saw him linked with Fulham. And he hinted he would be open to a move to the Premier League at some point

“We (Stuttgart) have a good team, a good coach and incredible fans,” he went on to say. “As a family, we feel very at ease in Stuttgart.” That is why I chose to stay at VfB.”

When asked if playing in the top tier of English football was his desire, he said, “Not exactly a dream.” But, if the opportunity to play in the Premier League exists, why not take it? But I don’t dream about it every day.”
