Melbourne Storm young gun Ryan Papenhuyzen has reportedly been ‘secretly’ shopped to at least one rival NRL club as a potential recruit after a horrid run of injuries.

The Sydney Morning Herald are reporting that a third party approached at least one unnamed club to gauge the interest of Papenhuyzen’s services.

Melbourne general manager Frank Ponissi has reportedly shot down the suggestion, with the star contracted to remain with the Storm until the end of the 2025 season.

Papenhuyzen, who is one of the most marketable players in the entire NRL, was reportedly not fazed when asked about the discussions.

Rookie Storm fullback Sualauvi Faalogo has made a sizzling impact on the NRL, so a potential move for Papenhuyzen could indeed be on the cards.
