16-year-old Crystal Palace wonderkid has now been called up to England U17 side, seven goals this season

Exciting Crystal Palace academy prospect Jesse Derry has just been called up to the England U17 squad for their upcoming European Championship qualifying matches.

He has been on fire this season for the U18’s.

Derry is a 16-year-old winger who is massively impressing in the Palace U18 side this season. The attacker is the son of cult hero Shaun Derry.

Today, the England U17 manager Greg Lincoln announced his squad for their upcoming matches, which are taking place in November.

Derry has made it into the squad alongside 21 other players and it is a fantastic achievement for the young Palace prospect.

Derry will be involved in three 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualifying matches, which are all taking place in November. Derry is not the only academy player on top form, with summer signing Roshaun Mathurin also impressing

This is a huge opportunity for Derry to show that he has a bright future, and he definitely deserves the England U17 call-up.

The three England U17 games will take place on the 3rd, 6th and 9th of November, with England facing Faroe Islands, Kosovo and Croatia.

If Derry can announce himself at youth international level and continue to excel on a consistent basis for Palace, there is no doubting that many fans will start to keep a close eye on the academy star.

There looks to be a lot of exciting talent in the Palace academy, and hopefully we will be able to see more talents break into the first team.
