We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
Everton will play it by ear with Jarrad Branthwaite’s fitness ahead of the game against Crystal Palace on Saturday, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to the centre-back being a doubt for this one, having been a first-team regular this season.
Dyche said that the 21-year-old is dealing with a knock but it’s not serious but it’s still not guaranteed he will be available for this one.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“There will be a late fitness test for Branthwaite.
“These things happen and knocks sometimes are more serious than they look initially.
“Everton will play it by ear closer to the kick off and if he’s not given the green signal, then someone else will play.”
Dele Alli, Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes are already set to miss this game for the Toffees due to injuries and/or match sharpness.
Branthwaite not playing could see Michael Keane starting and that’s something fans will be too pleased about.
Keane’s made a few major errors in recent months and this isn’t a game that Everton can afford to be losing.
