David Moyes issues West Ham injury update ahead of Nottingham Forest

Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Reds will head to the capital to face West Ham in the Premier League

Head coach David Moyes is hopeful Kurt Zouma is “getting closer” to making a return from injury after missing West Ham’s Europa League win over Olympiacos on Thursday.

Steve Cooper’s side will make the trip to the London Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off), after claiming a 2-0 win over Aston Villa. Ahead of the clash, Moyes is unsure whether Zouma will be available.

The 29-year-old has so far missed West Ham’s last three games against Arsenal, Brentford and Olympiacos after picking up an injury. Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez had both missed the defeat at Brentford after serving one-match suspensions for five yellow cards.

Speaking in Friday’s press conference, Moyes said: “I really don’t know yet in terms of injury news ahead of Sunday’s game. The early press conference makes it really difficult for me to give any update.

“With Kurt Zouma, we’ll have another look this morning. As I said, I’ve not really the chance to get in and assess and hear what the medical staff have said yet, but hopefully he’s making some progress and getting closer to playing.”
