West Ham are keen on signing ‘very talented’ 22-year-old Chelsea player

The future of Chelsea’s Armando Broja could be up in the air amid transfer interest from West Ham.

Armando Broja, 22, is one in a long line of talented youngsters to come out of Chelsea’s highly-rated academy.

Unfortunately, the striker has had horrific luck with injuries in recent times. He’s only played five games across all competitions this season.

It was pleasing to see him come off the bench and make a positive impact in the weekend’s 4-4 Premier League draw at home to Manchester City.

West Ham interest

TEAMtalk has explained that Chelsea could end up selling some players to help fund a deal for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.

It is explained that Broja is likely to be one of those Blues stars at risk of being sold.

The report says that West Ham are ‘keen’ on the 22-year-old frontman. There’s interest from several teams in England and from around Europe, too.

We still hold some belief that Broja can grow into a fantastic player in the future, but injuries has held him back in the last year following an introduction to the first team at Stamford Bridge.

In fairness, Napoli’s talisman is regarded as one of the world’s very best forwards. Journalist Simon Phillips reported via his Substack earlier this month that Chelsea will go all out to try and sign Osimhen in January if there’s a sniff a deal is possible.

Armando Broja has real quality

Our fear is that Broja could go on and achieve big things if he’s allowed to join West Ham. Instead, we’d rather the young forward stayed and competed in the Chelsea squad.

Described as “very talented” by Ralph Hasenhuttl in 2021 (BBC), Broja can be a star for the future with the right fitness and development.

The young forward has the pace and power that defenders hate. He’s a Chelsea academy graduate that we would love to see do well at this club, too.
