Tom Brady Becomes Part Owner of Las Vegas Raiders

Brady is now only the third player in history of the NFL to become a team owner.

Earlier this month, Hypebeast reported that the now-retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady was in talks to become a limited partner with the Las Vegas Raiders. According to ESPN the dream is now a reality as owner Mark Davis confirmed to the platform that they have “come to an agreement” with the future Pro Football Hall of Famer to join the organization’s ownership group. Currently, the decision is still pending the NFL’s approval.

In a phone call to ESPN Davis said, “We’re excited for Tom to join the Raiders.” The call comes from the NFL spring meeting in Minneapolis and Davis can be heard adding, “It’s exciting because he will be just the third player in the history of the National Football League to become an owner.” Brady follows in the footsteps of George Halas and Jerry Richardson. Over the course of his career, Brady went on to win six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before he retired after 23 seasons. Brady currently holds the record for winning the most Super Bowl championships.

The decision to become an owner of the Raiders must go through the process of approval by the other 24 current NFL team owners, no matter if it is a minority or majority stake. It is expected that Brady’s impending 10-year, $375 million USD contract Fox starting in 2024 will not be affected.
