The Detroit Lions looked to be headed for a loss late Sunday. Through most of the game, both sides of the ball looked outmatched by the Chicago Bears.

After Cairo Santos connected on a field goal with 4:15 remaining, the Bears led the Lions by 12. However, Jared Goff led the offense to two touchdowns in the final minutes to steal a victory at Ford Field.

With the win, Detroit moves to 8-2 on the season, and stays in the race for the top seed in the NFC. The Philadelphia Eagles currently hold the top mark, and will try to move to 9-1 with a win against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday night.  Goff, who threw three interceptions, rebounded from his struggles to pilot the heroic comeback. He hit Jameson Williams for a 32-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to five, then led the unit to David Montgomery’s eventual game-winning score.

The game-winning drive spanned 11 plays and 73 yards, ending with Montgomery’s 1-yard run with 0:29 remaining. Montgomery provided the clinching score in his first game against his former team.
