Leeds United appear to be setting price tag in excess of £17.3m for three-goal ace – View

Leeds United centre-back Pascal Struijk is a reported target of PSG in 2024, but their current interest has been rebuffed by a hefty asking price, seeing them turn to Lucas Beraldo.

January is mere days away for Leeds, and the first task for Daniel Farke before any incomings is to ensure that his key players are going nowhere for the second half of the campaign.

From front to back, Leeds boast a number of talented players that wouldn’t look out of place in top flight clubs, and that means offers are likely to come.

Pascal Struijk has been one of Leeds’ best players this season, with his performances at centre-back more than justifying him taking on the captain’s armband while Liam Cooper takes a back seat.

His efforts in the second tier have caught the eye of Europe’s elite, with L’Equipe reporting that PSG have already made contact with Leeds over signing him.

However, their efforts were in vain as Leeds’ asking price proved too high for the French giants to entertain him at this moment in time – instead moving for Sao Paulo’s Lucas Beraldo.

PSG’s agreement to bring in the Brazilian defender instead of Struijk hasn’t seen PSG’s hopes of signing the Leeds defender die completely.

The above report claims that they are still keen on signing Struijk, just currently deterred by how much Leeds are asking for.

His price tag isn’t revealed here, but it’s suggested that they looked at Beraldo as a more cost-effective option, which means Struijk could have come in at more than the €20million (£17.3m) they paid for Beraldo.

Angus Kinnear shared in the summer that Leeds rejected offers in the “low teens” for the 24-year-old, while his contract runs until 2027, suggesting we could be looking for a whole lot more to even consider letting Struijk go any time soon.

Struijk has two goals in the last two games to take his league tally for the season up to three, having netted previously at Southampton too.
