The injury bug continues to be one of the biggest issues for the Patriots this season, as offensive lineman Cole Strange left the Patriots matchup with the Chiefs on Sunday. It was clear right away that he suffered a knee injury and was carted off the field to the locker room immediately.
Other than that being a solid indication of the significance of the injury, it was made even more apparent when the Patriots ruled him out within minutes.
Strange becomes the latest starting player to be added to a lengthy list of devastating injuries for New England this season, joining Christian Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, and Matthew Judon. The offensive line has had major issues with protection this year, which makes the timing of his injury even more problematic.
Fortunately, they seem to be holding up just fine in his absence so far.
As the start of the third quarter began, the Patriots revealed that cornerback Jonathan Jones had suffered a knee injury as well, and was questionable to return for the remainder of the game.
Because J.C. Jackson hasn’t been seen on the field at all on Sunday, Jones’s absence would be more significant than usual.
