There’s so much about former Browns QB Frank Ryan that people don’t know – Terry Pluto

Picture Joe Flacco, the current Browns quarterback. Think of a long, athletic guy with a strong arm who is fearless throwing the ball deep down the field.

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku was at the heart of one of the most surprising and scary storylines of the current NFL season. Days before the Browns’ Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens, Njoku suffered significant burns from a fire pit incident. Despite the injuries and a questionable tag, Njoku suited up and played.

Njoku made waves by arriving at the stadium in a mask reminiscent of the movie “Hollow Man”. No one knew the extent of Njoku’s injuries until now.

On Wednesday, Njoku uploaded several photos in an Instagram post, two of which show the facial burns he sustained. It’s unclear on which days both photos were taken, but the burns were clearly very serious. He captioned the post: “Legacy“.

Fans online couldn’t believe Njoku played through the pain during the game. While Cleveland ended up losing to the Ravens, Njoku led the team in both receptions and receiving yards.

Given the circumstances, Njoku has quickly become a fan favorite for gutting it out. Several Browns supporters have used Njoku’s courage to take digs at quarterback Deshaun Watson, who sat out that same Week 4 game with a shoulder injury.

Thankfully, Njoku is okay following the accident. His status going forward is unknown, but he will definitely be championing to play in Week 6 and smile through the pain. Njoku has already partnered with the American Burn Association to help burn victims.

Moore was at the center of the action in the second quarter when the Browns took on the New York Jets. He had his face slammed into the turf whilst running with the ball.

He seemed to lose consciousness and start convulsing before the medics arrived on the scene to make sure he was okay. He was taken off and spent the night at a local hospital.

It is not yet clear when Moore is expected back on the field as further tests will certainly need to be carried out, but you can bet it will be sooner than Dr Omalu would like.

Omalu also said that if Moore doesn’t retire, he’d at least urge the receiver to sit out the rest of this season, even if that means missing Cleveland’s upcoming playoff run.
