Las Vegas Raiders now have another team looking to lure away interim head coach Antonio Pierce
A new report reveals a second organization is interested in making Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce the new leader of their team.
The Raiders went into the 2024 offseason on a positive note as they won three of their last four, which included a 63-point explosion against division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers and a rare road win versus the Chiefs in Kansas City. It’s part of why the next couple of weeks will be very interesting for the organization.
After being thrust into the head coach role firing Josh McDaniels’ Week 8 firing, Antonio Pierce gave Las Vegas more than enough reason to remove the interim tag from his job title with the better-than-expected work he did in his nine games. However, in the last week, the head coaching market has changed dramatically.
In just a few days NFL icon Bill Belichick, Seattle Seahawks legend Pete Carroll, and 2021 Coach of the Year Mike Vrabel have all become available. Not to mention, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is also checking on his options in the league. It is only right for the Raiders to do their due diligence and converse with every option available after having to oust head coaches twice in the last three seasons.
However, while looking into the various candidates they are also opening the door to other organizations having conversations with Pierce — a man who has become very popular with Las Vegas Raiders players and fans. Last week, it was revealed that the Tennessee Titans met with the 45-year-old. Now another organization is showing interest in Pierce.

On Sunday, NFL Media league insider Mike Garafolo reported that the Atlanta Falcons have put in a request to interview Antonio Pierce. The Falcons have also been linked to a potential pursuit of Belichick in recent days.
Pierce is believed to be the odds-on favorite to land the Las Vegas job on a full-time basis, however, after his impressive 5-4 run with the team, the Raiders must be careful they lose him because he gets an offer he can’t refuse while they go through their own interview process.
