CLEVELAND, Ohio — If you can’t beat ‘em, interview their quarterbacks coach.

The Browns were so impressed with C.J. Stroud’s performance in the Texans 45-14 victory over the Browns in the wild card round, they’ll interview his quarterbacks coach, Jerrod Johnson, for their offensive coordinator vacancy this week.

In that upset over the Browns, Stroud went 16 of 21 for 274 yards with three touchdowns and 0 interceptions for a 157.2 rating against the No. 1 defense in the NFL.

Stroud found holes in the Browns’ excellent secondary and took advantage of what he called undisciplined eyes on the part of the defense.

Johnson, 35, an undrafted quarterback out of Texas A&M in 2011, spent time with the Eagles, Steelers, Seahawks, Bears, Ravens and Cowboys either in the offseason or on the practice squad.
