Bulldogs forward has surgery; a timeline is provided
The Bulldogs will be missing a player for a period of time.

In an effort to rejoin the NRL lineup this season, the front rower had a knee procedure at the Prince of Wales Hospital in late January following many recurrent injuries.

The NRL Physio said that “the Bulldogs expect an 8-10 week rehab process before returning to play,” despite the fact that the team has not disclosed a timetable for his comeback.

Sutton was brought in from the Canberra Raiders prior to the commencement of the previous campaign, but he was sadly not up to par and was sent to the NSW Cup for more than a month before returning to the NRL squad.

At the conclusion of the previous season, claims from The Herald surfaced stating that he was given permission to depart the club with Raymond Faitala-Mariner, at a steep price tag of $500,000 per season.

The England 9 international is said to have met with club representatives to talk about his future, which could involve a return to the Super League in his own country.

The primary justification offered for his alleged permission to depart is that, as a forward unfamiliar with the team’s defensive philosophy, he is finding it difficult to adapt.

The Bulldogs’ general manager of football, Phil Gould, also disclosed that Zach Montgomery, a development player, will not be playing for the team this season and will take a break from rugby league in 2024.

Montgomery, another player for the team, participated in eight NSW Cup games the previous year. He made 150 tackles, covered 458 meters in total, and scored two tries during the performance.
