Former Aberdeen defender joins Bolton Wanderers on loan for the rest of the season

Calvin Ramsay has had a struggle with injuries during his time at Liverpool and will head out on loan for the second half of the season to promotion chasing Bolton

Former Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the season.

Ramsay, 20, went out on loan at the start of the season to Preston North End but only made a couple of appearances. He will now by hoping for a good run in the Bolton side as they chase promotion back to the Championship.

Ramsay made his Liverpool debut from the bench in the Champions League against Napoli.

The Reds released a statement this afternoon:

It reads: “Liverpool defender Calvin Ramsay has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the season.

“The right-back, who signed for the Reds in 2022, links up with the League One side having spent the opening half of 2023-24 with Preston North End.

“A senior Scotland international, Ramsay made two appearances under Jürgen Klopp during his debut campaign at Anfield, before his season was curtailed by an injury that required surgery.

“Bolton are currently second in the League One standings as they chase promotion to the Championship, and are next in action when they travel to Blackpool in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Tuesday night.”
