“I Want Tee Higgins Back” Cincinnati Bengals’ Front Office Tackles Tough Decisions To Secure Future: Duke Tobin Aims To Keep Dynamic Duo Ja’Marr Chase And Tee Higgins
The Cincinnati Bengals’ Director of Player Personnel, Duke Tobin, has lately come forth and expressed his desire to keep the team’s two great wide receivers on the roster.
Tobin was first adamant about not giving Tee Higgins away, but things have changed. The original decision is to keep Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins together. As Tobin stated during the Senior Bowl, the Bengals must find a way to keep both wide outs and sort out the rest before the next season begins.
According to Bengals.com, the team’s official website, Tobin stated, “There hasn’t been a year when we didn’t want to continue developing both lines of scrimmage.” This is where the game is won or lost. Every team has outstanding talent players who can make big plays in crucial occasions and want the ball in their hands. But the line of scrimmage is where the game is won or lost, and everyone here at the Senior Bowl is focused on it.”
“Those are the guys that are difficult to locate. You get a great rusher, and that forces teams to rely on their tackles. And if they’re not up to the task, it’s a major issue. You want to be that problem for the other team while also solving it for yourself.
If Higgins does not sign a deal with his current team before March, he will enter the free agent market. Chase, on the other hand, is still under contract for another year. According to Pro Football Talk, Higgins has 148 catches for 1,120 yards over the last two seasons. This season, he missed five games and finished with 42 receptions for 656 yards.
Tobin added, “We like Ja’Marr.” He is in our long-term plans. He’s a top-tier player in this league. We want to keep those types of players on our team. I want Tee Higgins back. Everyone on our squad wants Tee Higgins back. There is a pie, and we can and cannot do certain things because of it. “We’ll see.”
