The New England Patriots’ front office restructure is taking shape, with Eliot Wolf promoted from scouting director to the No. 1 executive in control of personnel, according to NFL Network. Alonzo Highsmith is also leaving the Miami Hurricanes to become a senior personnel official for the New England Patriots, he confirmed to Pro Football Talk Wednesday. In other developments, NFL Network reports that Matt Groh, director of player personnel, will oversee college scouting, and Pat Stewart will play a key role.
According to rumors, Wolf, 41, will have control of the 53-man roster while working closely with new head coach Jerod Mayo. His title is unclear. Wolf joined the Patriots as a consultant in 2020 and was later promoted to director of scouting in 2022. Highsmith, who will turn 59 later this month, has served as the Hurricanes’ general manager of football operations for the last two seasons. His addition reunites him with Wolf, whom he previously worked with in Green Bay and Cleveland.
