‘Tottenham need to forget about trophies – they’re not easy to win in England’
Jamie O’Hara has a contentious perspective on Tottenham Hotspur’s 16-year trophy drought.
From 2007 to 2010, the former Tottenham Hotspur star made 56 appearances and scored seven goals before joining Wolves for £3.5 million in 2011.
While hanging up his boots in 2020 following a period as a player/manager at Billericay Town, the 37-year-old has remained a devoted Tottenham fan, as evidenced by his regular appearances as a pundit for talkSPORT.

Sky Sports offers 500 live football games to watch, as well as cricket, golf, F1, boxing, NFL, NBA, and more across eight dedicated channels. Sky Sports is the only way to see all the action this year.
Like many other Spurs fans, O’Hara has relished manager Ange Postecoglou’s new-look team in what has been a successful season in North London, with the club currently fourth in the Premier League table.
During an exclusive conversation with Daily Star Sport via Grosnevor Sport, the former midfielder discussed what he has seen from the team thus far and how much morale has been restored among supporters following last year’s catastrophic campaign.
“This season has been a breath of fresh air,” O’Hara explained. “You know, It feels like the feel-good factor is back at the football club, I think Ange has done a brilliant job in terms of just changing the mentality of how we want to play football and playing a bit more exciting.”
In just his debut season, Postecoglou has won over the Spurs faithful, and his innovative style of play and honesty have O’Hara sure he represents the club’s future. “I’d like to see Ange at this football club for 4 or 5 seasons,” he said. “Stay with him. He seems like a nice man, you know. And, you know, if we don’t make it to the finals for a few seasons or even get close, that’s fine.”
While Tottenham have made progress from previous season, the club appears to be heading for another trophy-less season after being knocked out of both domestic competitions before February, marking 16 years since their last title.
