Bills K Tyler Bass Reflects on ‘Toughest Moments’ After Playoff Miss
No Buffalo Bills player had a more tough season finale than kicker Tyler Bass.
With fewer than two minutes remaining in the Buffalo Bills’ Divisional Round game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Bass set up for a 44-yard field goal that would have knotted the score at 27. Bass’ kick appeared decent at first, but it took a strong hook to the right and ended up nowhere near the uprights. The Chiefs then ran out the clock to win 27-24, crushing the hearts of the Bills Mafia once more.
To make matters worse, the Chiefs went on to win their second consecutive Super Bowl and third in five years. If Bass had made the kick and a few more bounces had gone their way, the Bills might have lifted the Lombardi Trophy instead.
Weeks later, it appears that Bass has come to grips with how the season concluded. After previously deactivating his social media accounts, Bass issued a contemplative message on Thursday.
“The worst times teach you the most valuable lessons in life. I will never forget and cherish the love and support I received from my teammates, Bills Mafia, and @10livesclub! Thank you for another season – see you in year 5! “Go Bills, always.”
