Aton Villas announce pre-season friendly as USA return confirmed
Aston Villa have confirmed that they will return to the United States during preseason, having spent two weeks there for the Premier League year Series last year.
Villa will play a friendly against the Columbus Crew on Saturday, July 27. The match will take place at Lower.com Field, with kickoff at 8 p.m. local time (2 a.m. BST).
The game is part of the Leagues Cup Showcase, the club has revealed. The Crew are the reigning MLS Cup champions, led by 46-year-old Wilfried Nancy.
Villa have also confirmed that the encounter will be broadcast live on VillaTV, with streaming and tickets information to follow, as well as further information about the pre-season schedule.
Unai Emery’s team prepared for this season with six friendly, three of which took place in the United States. Villa defeated Fulham 2-0 in Orlando following 3-3 draws with Newcastle United and Brentford in Philadelphia and Maryland, respectively.
