Braves fall short against the Orioles
North Port, Florida (WWSB) The Atlanta Braves’ battle with the Baltimore Orioles did not go as planned, but there do not appear to be many problems right now during spring training.
A crowd of roughly 5,000 people gathered to get their first look at Orioles starter Seth Johnson and Braves ace Max Fried.
Fried pitched two innings of shutout baseball, but the Braves lost 2-1. Regardless of the outcome, Fried maintains that his approach to the game and preparation remain unchanged from previous years.
“I’ve kind of kept the same advice that I told myself back then,” Fried told me. “Every opportunity that you get to take mound, make the most of it and leave everything out there.”
The Orioles’ win puts them at 3-0 in spring training. The Braves are 1-2, but manager Brian Snitker told ABC7 that as long as his players are on the field, the team will be fine.
“As long as we keep everybody healthy, we’ll be fine,” Snitker added. “That’s the biggest thing right now. Getting the men to work, the innings, and the at bats will mostly take care of themselves.”
The Braves return to action on Tuesday when they travel to LECOM Park in Bradenton to take on the Pirates. The Orioles return to Ed Smith Stadium on Tuesday to take on the Detroit Tigers.
