Chargers Have Reportedly Made A Decision   Austin Ekeler’s Future

As a result of the Chargers’ cleaning house, the franchise went all out to find former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh to replace Staley after the season was officially finished.

Fortunately for the Chargers, Harbaugh was eager to relocate to Los Angeles and is eager to help turn around the organization with great quarterback Justin Herbert at the helm.

Although the organization and Harbaugh are pleased about moving forward with Herbert and building around him, the same cannot be said about standout running back Austin Ekeler, who will test NFL free agency, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Dov Kleiman.

Ekeler has been extremely outspoken about his desire to leave the team because he felt unappreciated, despite the fact that the offense used to run through him at times.

Unfortunately for Ekeler, he was unable to get his wish to be dealt, but as an unrestricted free agent, he will almost probably leave the organization for greener pastures this offseason.

In 14 games during the 2023 NFL season, Ekeler ran for 628 yards and five touchdowns on 179 attempts.

Ekeler had an impact as a receiver, as usual, catching 51 catches for 436 yards and one touchdown.
