Browns insider explains why Cleveland moved on from Patriots OC

Despite not being re-signed by the New York Jets after last season, and not being welcomed back after Aaron Rodgers sustained an Achilles injury in Week 1, Cleveland Browns quarterback Cleveland BrownsCleveland Browns has no ill will toward his previous organization.
“Is what it is,” Flacco told reporters when asked why New York did not bring him back. “I’m definitely delighted to be where I am. I admire several of the men in that locker room. The only reason that came to mind was when somebody asked, ‘Hey, are the Jets gonna contact you?’

Flacco is 3-1 as a starter in Cleveland’s previous four games and has passed for more yards (1,307) than any other quarterback during that span. Flacco has also thrown for 10 touchdowns, tying Matthew Stafford and Brock Purdy for the most during that time.
The Browns (10-5) are also currently in fifth in the AFC playoff picture, thanks to Flacco’s outstanding performance.
After going unsigned this season, Cleveland signed Flacco following Deshaun Watson’s season-ending shoulder injury. The veteran quarterback worked out for the Browns and was added to their practice squad three days later, before signing a one-year contract with Cleveland.

The 38-year-old will have the opportunity to assist the Browns secure their first postseason participation since 2020 when they host the Jets on Thursday night (8:15 p.m. ET).
