Top Cleveland Browns Targets At Running Back Who Impressed at NFL Combine

INDIANAPOLIS– The top running backs spoke at the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Friday morning, and the Cleveland Browns will be interested in adding to the group with Nick Chubb still recovering.
Chubb tore the PCL, MCL, and LCL in his left knee during the third week of the 2023 NFL season. He also dislocated his knee and sustained cartilage damage, all of which need surgery. Chubb is anticipated to return for the 2024 season, although it is unclear when that will occur.

This offseason, the Browns will look to add to the room, which currently includes Chubb and Jerome Ford. Pierre Strong Jr., who contributed following Chubb’s injury, might return as well.

The team also acquired experienced coach Duce Staley to replace Stump Mitchell, who was fired following the season.
The Browns have seven picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Cleveland holds picks 54, 85, 134, 154, 204, 207, and 227 in this year’s draft. Cleveland has several mid-round picks, and several running backs are expected to be taken in the middle rounds this year.
Here are a couple running backs who impressed during media day at the NFL Combine on Friday morning and could fit in Cleveland.

Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen also received a lot of attention at the NFL Combine.
Allen carried for 984 yards and 12 touchdowns for Wisconsin in 2023.
Allen has a strong relationship with one of the league’s finest running backs, Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans.
“Oh yes, Derrick. “Henry is a guy I’ve talked to a lot,” Allen explained. “We have an excellent relationship. This past summer, I was able to pick his brain a little bit and mimic his diet. His recuperation schedule and regimen. Derrick is someone I chat to all the time. He has been fantastic for me, particularly over the last year. I watch him a lot and try to replicate his game.”
