4 NFL teams ‘on the radar’ for Justin Fields trade with Chicago Bears, including Steelers and Raiders
The Chicago Bears spent the week researching the best quarterback prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft as well as Justin Fields’ trade value. With the NFL Combine coming to an end, we appear to be getting closer to Fields’ trade.
While the Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers have long been considered the front-runners to acquire the former first-round pick, other teams are also interested. The Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots have been linked to NFL trade rumors concerning Fields.
After meeting with the top quarterback prospects at the NFL Combine and discussing a deal for Fields with clubs, the issue appears to be more clear as all 32 teams leave Indianapolis.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Falcons, Steelers, Raiders, and Minnesota Vikings have been identified in league circles as the four NFL teams to watch in trade talks with Chicago.
The Vikings are the biggest surprise of the group, given there was no indication that he was on the team’s radar prior to the NFL Combine. However, if Minnesota believes it will be unable to trade up for a top-three choice in the 2024 NFL Draft to acquire a top quarterback, Fields is a plausible alternative to potentially replace Kirk Cousins.
Las Vegas had already been discussed in the league as a possible suitor for Fields. However, after hiring offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, the Raiders stated that they believe Fields contributed to Chicago’s offensive troubles last season.
Atlanta appears to be prioritizing Cousins in NFL free agency, but he could yet re-sign with Minnesota. With Chicago wanting to find Fields a new home before NFL free agency begins, his new location could have a huge impact on the free-agent market and eventual destination for Cousins and QB Baker Mayfield.
