Buffalo Bills extend three-year, $31 million contract with nickel corner Taron Johnson, keeping key secondary player well beyond 2024.

Johnson, entering his final year of his contract in 2024, will receive additional contractual security and immediate cap relief for the Bills. With $12.4 million cap space on his previous contract, the Bills can potentially extend some cap hit.

Bills veteran Johnson’s $31 million deal surpasses Colts cornerback Kenny Moore as the highest-paid nickel in the NFL, thanks to his best overall season and top defensive grade.

Buffalo secured Johnson’s services a year before Jordan Poyer’s move to Miami, and the team awaits another potential move.
