The Washington Commanders can replace Curtis Samuel in the 2024 NFL draft by selecting USC wide receiver Brenden Rice, son of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice.

Ben Standig suggests the Commanders use Rice’s 100th-overall pick in their mock draft, citing insufficient size and replacements for Curtis Samuel and Terry McLaurin.

Standig suggests Rice’s son, who caught 12 touchdown passes and 45 receptions for the Trojans last season, could be a strong candidate for the Commanders, especially considering his connection to new offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.

Rice’s father recorded 22,895 receiving yards with the 49ers, accumulating 19,247 of his NFL-record 22,895 yards.

The Jerry Rice lineage has the potential to tempt commanders.

Rice’s bloodlines and Brenden Rice’s impressive statistics for the Trojans should attract scouts, as Rice demonstrated his potential in a 75-yard touchdown catch against Stanford, averaging over 14 yards per catch.
